I really like the new Tiger. We are a smaller shop so it some times takes a little longer to get the new bikes in. This is the first one, came in today and I was the lucky sucker that got to bust it out.

Everything can at once today so it was a mad dash to bust everything out. Best part was breaking out the new Ducati Black Streetfighter, so bad ass! I forgot my camera again today otherwise I would have some great shots of the mountain of bikes and cardboard. Come down and say hi and check out that Streetfight.

The new Ducati Diavel is in and you should stop down at the shop to check it out. I had a chance to ride it for a couple of hours out west, and I must say It really turns some heads. This bike is not only super quick (0-60 in 2.6 sec.) but also has safety features like antilock breaks and traction control. These are only a few of a long list of cutting-edge technology on the Diavel. Don't wait there selling fast. Dave R.

Life Cycle is offering another free educational seminar on Saturday the 26th, at the shop. This will be a morning class at 11:00 am. Geoff Maloney of GP Tech will pass along his vast knowledge of motorcycle chassis, brakes, and weight distribution. This will help you better understand how and why your motorcycle does what it does. This seminar will last about an hour and will include a question/answer session.
This can really help improve the handling of the bike when you understand how to use your body and brakes. Any questions call Life Cycle. 269-388-5590

A Ducati Scrambler? Rad!

In an exclusive interview with Italy’s Motosprint magazine (you can read it also on their website) Ducati’s general director Claudio Domenicali revealed that the Italian marque is seriously thinking of developing a scrambler style motorcycle and a maxi scooter to add to their line-up, confirming the rumors we’ve been hearing lately.

While the interview concentrated mainly on the controversial Diavel, despite the many rave reviews we’ve read by journalists who tested the bike at Marbella last month, when it was shown to the international press. Domenciali admitted that Ducati wants to up their production to 60,000 bikes a year, thus needing to branch out to other production segments and markets.

Ducati has already laid down the first stone in their new plant in Thailand and Domenicali confirmed they will build another in South America, specifically in Brazil, in order to get around import taxes that are strangling their sales in these two important areas.

So far reactions to the idea of new scrambler have been met favourably, but a scooter branded with the iconic marque just sticks in the craw of Ducati purists, while everyone is worried about eventual job losses in Italy.

So yesterday I went to the local Harley dealer for a open house/demo event only because I have a hard one for the new XR 1200. So I get there and start taking to one of the sales guys I've know for years and ask if I can demo one, he then tells me "Harley is keeping a limit to the demos and they don't have an XR 1200 to demo", WTF? The Motor Co. has been pissing and crying about low sales numbers over the past few years yet they don't offer a full line of demos at these big demo evens... LAME!

I have decided to go in a completely different direction with my bike. I was going to do a bobber then as the pieces started to fall into place I started to see more of a tracker type thing coming to light. I’m leaving the suspension stock height and running Biltwell tracker bars. I have shaved and shortened the rear render and will be running a reto looking round tail/break light I picked up from Licks Cycles (lickscycles.com). When I started the project I didn’t really realize the street tracker thing is starting to become more and more popular, as a result I have found some really cool inspiration out there. At first I was kinda bummed to see so may floating around out there but after all completely original idea are hard to come by now days.I just a few people out there find mine cool enough to inspire them.

Well I finally winterized Carrie's Bonneville today and started working on removing the sheet metal on mine for mods and paint. I forgot my camera when I left for the shop so I will have to post some pictures of the progress I made tomorrow after work.

I think this weekend I will be getting started on taking the sheet metal off my speedmaster for paint. I have a few other changes to make as well. I'm becoming friends with a guy(Bryce) that rides a Low Rider and works in a small machine shop. I hope he will be helping me make some parts may be get a few trade marks. Never know. I will post pictures of the speedmaster through out the winter progress.

I was able to get in another 100 mile ride today, Its been a long time since I can remember riding in December. So that makes 10 months in a row of riding this year, and about 8000 miles. Not bad considering I worked two jobs most of that time.

I've been having an issue with my Triumph Speedmaster for a while now. This last past saturday Carrie and I made the trip to Triumph Detroit so there Master Mechanic the "Motoguru" could have a look. The best part is he came in on his day off just to help me out. I'm glad to say the problem now seems to be fixed and Motoguru made it home in time to rip out another late fall ride. Many thanks to all at Triumph Detroit!
